Beach trip!

8 Jul

A reminder to parents that are coming to the beach with their children to please meet us at the train station, not at Nursery, or if you are travelling independently please see Miss Gallagher for a map of where to meet us on the beach.

For those travelling on the 9.37 train, please be aware that the train on Friday 11th July will be very busy as we have been informed there is another school travelling on the same train. We had booked a carriage but there was clerical error and they have double booked the 9:37 a.m train from Bromley South, which means unfortunately we don’t have any reserved seats. We just wanted to let you know in advance as the train will be very busy.

For the return journey (15:41) we have managed to reserve 100 seats so we suggest you take this train home. The school teachers will be leaving on the 15:11 train as we have arranged to bring the children who are travelling with us back at that time. The same school party are returning on the 15.11 train hence why we suggest you take the 15:41 (or later) train for ease of comfort.

Farewell Nursery

6 Jun

Today in Nursery the children were secretly making cakes and cards for a party this afternoon. I was very surprised at 2:30pm when they then presented them to me for a farewell. I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone in Nursery including the teachers for being so amazing! I have really loved working in Nursery every Friday and I will miss you all!! Keep up the great learning and parents thank you for your support. All the best and enjoy the rest of the school year.

Warm wishes Miss Green xo

Coming up this term…

1 Jun

I hope you all had a lovely half term  break and are as excited as I am about our last half term together before all the children go to Reception!

This half term our topic will be ‘Commotion in the Ocean”  – we will be learning about pirates, mermaids, sea creatures, seasides and transport.

More details about our beach trip on Friday 11th July will  be coming out this week, I can’t wait!

Well done everyone for all your work with The Sound Challenge last term, it was lots of fun. This half term we will be doing a maths challenge every week – I’ll set the first one on Monday!

See you tomorrow,

Miss Gallagher

Watch it grow….

22 May

This week we have been learning about growing. We read Jasper’s Beanstalk and planted lots of our own seeds.

We grew cress, which we found grew very quickly and we were able to eat it by the end of the week!

We also planted sunflowers and ladybird flowers which are now under a net in our playground to keep them safe from squirrels.

We are also having a bean race! We each chose a bean to plant and we’re going to see which type of bean grows into the biggest beanstalk.

We planted runner beans, climbing beans and dwarf beans… Which one do you think will grow the tallest?

Check back after half term to see the results!

Let’s get messy!

20 May

Nursery will not be joining in with MAPP day on Friday 23rd May as we have our own very special day planned. We will be having MESSY DAY! There will be lots of fun messy activities going on all day so please can children in that day come in in very old clothes and also bring a spare set to get changed into!

Fee fi fo fum!

16 May

This week we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk as part of our growing topic. We had great fun retelling The story and sequencing the pictures. We went to the KS2 playground to practice climbing beanstalks, walked on stilts like a giant and we also made bone shaped bread to trick the giant!

Here are some pictures of our learning this week.
